Summary/Preview: Amber, Bernd and baby Fritz visit a local craft fair…
Author’s note: Please note that Amber belongs to Kat; I’m just borrowing her for this fic.

The summer craft fair was in full swing; the local artisans lining Main Street with their booths. This was the first year since she had started that Amber did not have a booth. It felt weird and fun too at the same time. Little Fritz slept peacefully in the baby sling she wore, leaving her hands free to pick up anything that caught her eye, while Bernd trailed along behind her. She made a beeline to the woman who made plushies. Amber loved her work as she made fun things like aliens and monsters, instead of teddy bears and bunnies.

She browsed her stall, looking at the collection of brightly colored fleece toys. “Hey, Bernd, what about this?” Amber held up purple tie-dyed squid.

He grinned. “I think Fritz’ll love it as much as his Mutti.” He fished his wallet out of his back pocket. “How much?” When she told him, he quickly paid her, and grabbing the squid, he followed Amber to the next booth.

They spent the afternoon visiting each stall, while the baby slept. When Fritz woke up, Amber found a quiet place to change him, before nursing him. Bernd took off for the hot dog stand to get them a quick lunch. After lunch, they picked up where they had left off, finally ending up at Tino’s booth. Bernd bought a couple of prints for his office as they reminded him of his favorite haunts where he liked to ride. Fritz was starting to fuss, so they called it a day and headed home. Amber did not mind, she had had a fun afternoon and besides, she could always go back tomorrow and look for more handmade treasures.
