Whoa, this is shocking. Have you heard of this happening to anyone else?? I just tried googling gay content + IP blocking on LJ, but only came up with you and the original blog source. I'm curious to see exactly what LJ is doing here -- whether they're rolling out a massive policy change without announcing it, or if it's just a one-off.
