After reading the book by James Jones, Didi decided to rent From Here to Eternity and watch it with Tino. The two of them had decided to make Tuesday their movie night, since they had nothing special going on. Somewhere along the way, it had evolved into their date night. It was not like they never went out on the weekends since they got married, but this was official, with only “death, taxes, and natural disasters” having the power to cancel it. Birthdays postponing it were a given.

So armed with a huge bowl of popcorn and a beverage of choice, they cuddled up on the sofa to watch the movie. Both of them enjoyed it and when it came to the iconic scene on the beach between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr, Didi sighed softly. A romantic at heart, instead of seeing the actors in the iconic scene, he saw himself and Tino rolling in the waves as they shared a passionate kiss.

Tino gave his husband a sidelong glance when he heard him sigh. He let out a little giggle as he had a feeling he knew what Didi was thinking. Tino giggled again as he turned his head ever so slightly to get a better look at his husband. He smiled impishly when Didi glanced over at him. Tino thought it was cute the way his husband’s cheeks heated up. “Awe…” He reached up and cupped Didi’s cheek. “Anyone ever tell you, you’re cute?”

“No…”

“Well, you are.” Tino’s impish smile grew broader. “So, whatchya thinkin’?”

Didi’s eyes went wide and the blush, staining his cheeks pink, grew deeper. “Nothing.”

“You’re not thinking about being unfaithful like the girl in the movie are you?” Tino’s tone and the mischievous sparkle in his eyes, made it clear he was teasing him, but Didi still felt a pang of hurt.

“No!” It came out more forcefully than he intended and Didi felt bad as the mood between them soured. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-”

Tino leaned in and silenced him with a kiss. “Sssh…” he whispered against his husband’s lips. “Just kiss me…” he breathed.

Didi did as he was told. When he shifted to put his arms around his husband, the bowl of popcorn tumbled from the space between them, hitting the floor. He briefly paused to glance at the mess on the floor only to ignore it much to Tino’s delight. When they came up for air, Didi nuzzled his husband’s cheek and said, his voice low and husky, “You wanna?”

“Do I ever!!” Tino wiggled in his husband’s embrace. The next thing he knew, Didi was carrying him off to their bedroom, the movie forgotten, for a night of fun between the sheets.
