For Sakura-chan, who wanted some Hiten/Byakuya…
“So you wanna…?” Hiten purred at the beautiful young man standing in front of him. Giving him a sidelong glance, he fluttered his eyelashes coyly at him too for effect. I can’t believe I actually said that… Or batted my eyelashes like some pathetic old queen… Hiten thought. And yet, he’s laughing… I should be too at the absurdity of it…I’m sick, and this sweet young thing has no idea… The gods are going to punish me for this, I just know it… but I’m tired of being alone and lonely…
“Suzuki Byakuya,” he said, giving the rock star his name.
“Suzuki-san…” Hiten looked down to see he was somehow holding this guy’s hand and the crazy part was, he showed no sign of being freaked out by it. Let go, you idiot… you can’t have him or anyone else! But I want him more than I’ve wanted anyone, including my little Ban-chan… And it’s kinda funny in way… he looks a bit like Ban’s sweetie, that onnagata… what’s his name? Aaah… Jaki-chan…That’s it!! Like that Chinese action hero guy… He sighed. What a mockery my life is…
“You alright?” Byakuya said, concern for Hiten written all over his face. Wow… he’s rich, famous, and yet, he looks so sad… It’s like he wants to get laid, but doesn’t want me to know he’s gay…
“Yeah… So you wanna …?”
“Go get some coffee?” Byakuya finished. “Sure… but what about this? Aren’t you supposed to be here all day?”
“Actually, I’m only supposed to be here until one. It’s…” he looked at his watch, “one-thirty, so I’m free to go after I finish signing a few more CDs. You’ll wait for me…?”
“Yeah…” Byakuya turned around to look at the line snaking around the record department of the Yamaha music store. “It’s going to take forever…” he said as he turned back to Hiten.
“I’ll write fast,” the older rock star quipped, and looking past Byakuya, who stepped aside, he briefly chatted with the next person on line as he signed the CD.
The younger man stood off to the side, watching his idol at work. I can’t believe I’m getting together with him… It’s like a dream come true… I hope he doesn’t think I’m some stupid groupie… He closed his eyes, wincing at that thought. When he opened them, Byakuya was pleasantly surprised to see Hiten was watching him intently. The twenty year old felt his cheeks heating up when the older man quirked his eyebrow at him and flashed his trademark cocky grin.
Somehow an hour flew by and just like in all his dreams, Hiten came up to Byakuya and they left the music store, amid the surge of fans and camera flashes. It was exciting and surreal and the twenty year old thought he had died and gone to heaven when he got into the back of the limo with his idol. He could not believe it when Hiten put his arm around him and Byakuya took advantage of the moment to snuggle up next to him.
Hiten closed his eyes. He desperately wanted to tilt that pretty face up and kiss him long and hard, but he could not risk getting him sick. So he settled for the bare minimum of contact, by holding him close and pretending it was more. When Byakuya shifted slightly, Hiten opened his eyes and found himself gazing down into a pair of beautiful blue eyes. The urge to kiss that sweet little mouth was so strong that Hiten felt himself starting to panic, and when the younger man made a move to kiss him he quickly pulled back.
“I’m sorry; I thought you liked guys…” Byakuya said softly. He was mortified and he would not blame Hiten one bit if he decided to pull over and kick him out of the limo. You idiot! You blew it big time! I bet as soon as he can, we’re going to pull over and I’ll be asked to leave… Oh well, it was fun while it lasted…
“Look, I’m sorry… I do like guys, especially ones as pretty as you… but I want to get to know you better… There’s something about you… Something I like,” Hiten said softly. I hope I don’t hurt your feelings as this sounds like a brush off, but I do like you a lot… I feel like you could be the one who’ll make me happy and ease my loneliness…be my soul mate… He reached out to gently run the back of his finger down the younger man’s cheek. “So can we take things slow? Please…?” I need to time to work up the courage to tell you I’m sick…
Byakuya smiled. “Sure…” I can’t believe he likes me and wants to get to know me better! You’re wrong, Chichi-ue, I’m not a failure, or idiot who’ll never amount to anything! I’ve got some rich and famous guy who wants to date me!! See? Being gay isn’t that bad, Chichi-ue!! I want the same things out of life you want for me, only with a guy instead of a girl!! I wish you could see that… I really wish you could…Byakuya sighed.
“So you wanna…?” Hiten purred the same come-on line he had hours ago. And just like then, Byakuya laughed. Only this time he said, “Yes…”
