Title: If Love Makes Fools of Us All…

Author: kira
Genre: Romance
Rating: OT
Summary: Yuki, missing Shuichi, finds it hard to write…

“If love makes fools of us all, then I’d rather be foolish than wise,” he said.
Eiri Yuki stared at the words he had just typed on his laptop. Picking up his cigarette, he took a deep drag on it as he considered those words. He slowly exhaled, a faint smile tugging at his lips. Those words were certainly true in his lover’s case. Shuichi had certainly played the fool numerous times in their relationship. From the outrageous to the down right pathetic, he foolishly if unwittingly kept things just interesting enough to spark Yuki’s begrudging interest in him. Now the thirty year old author found he could not live without him and it was times like this, when one or the other was away on tour, that he missed him keenly.
Putting his cigarette out, Yuki started typing again. He got as far as the end of the paragraph, when he sighed. He just could not get Shuichi off his mind. Things were too quiet without him, and besides, Yuki simply missed him. Drumming his fingers on the desk, he smiled when he heard the door to his study opening. Stealthy, soft footsteps crept up behind him as he pretended to be hard at work, writing.
“Miss me?” Shuichi said as he put his arms around him.
“What kind of stupid question is that?” Yuki turned his head to the side and looked up at him as best he could. Whatever sarcastic remark he had had died on his lips, before he could utter it. Instead, he said softly, “Of course I missed you.”
“Awe, Yuki… You really do love me.”
Yuki rolled his eyes, and before he knew it, Shuichi was in his lap, kissing him. Yeah… and I kind of like being foolishly in love with you …
