Thanks to Kat for suggesting Jak and Jingle bells
“Jingle bells, jingle bells… Jingle all the way…” Jakotsu sang softly as he sewed several tiny silver bells to the hem of his red velvet mini dress. He knew how much Bankotsu loved it whenever he wore anything short or red and finding this dress in his size gave the cross-dresser an idea. He would embellish it with something Christmassy and give it, or rather himself, as part of his life-partner’s Christmas gifts.
It was not long before Jakotsu had finished decorating the dress and humming softly to himself, he quickly changed into it. Slipping his feet into his kitten-heeled mule slippers, he tottered off down the hall to where his life-partner sat in the living room, nursing a bad cold. “Jingle bell, jingle bells… Jingle all the way,” he sang as he stepped into the living room.
Bankotsu gave him a bleary-eyed look and smiled.
“Jingle bells…” Jakotsu shimmied, the little bells tinkling. “Jingle bells…” Another shimmy really set the little bells on his mini tinkling. “Jingle all the way…” He blew a kiss at his life-partner.
Bankotsu chuckled softly, it quickly turning into a deep raspy cough.
“You okay, Ban honey?”
“Yeah…” he croaked.
“Awe…” Jakotsu tottered over to him, his jingle bells, merrily tinkling. He leaned forward, putting a cool hand on his life-partner’s forehead. “You’re burning up!” Jakotsu straighten. “Stay put, I’ll go get you some aspirin and warm honeyed milk.”
“Thanks, Sweetness…”
“Then it’s off to bed with you!”
“Yes, Ma’am…” Bankotsu said tiredly. He watched his life-partner totter off to the kitchen. As he listened to the sounds of him puttering around in there, Banryu jumped up onto the sofa.
“Mew…?” The black and white tomcat rubbed against Bankotsu’s palm when he tried to pet him. Nekozawa daintily sauntered over, mewling softly as she rubbed against his legs.
“If you kids are looking to get fed, go pester your mother, she’s in the kitchen…” Bankotsu coughed, startling the cats who took off out of the living room to parts unknown. “See if I look after you when you’re sick,” he grumped.
Jakotsu appeared a few minutes later, with a mug of warm honeyed milk and a couple of aspirin. He silently fussed over Bankotsu, while the latter sat there, sipping his milk. It felt good going down and the warmth and honey soothed his fiery chest and throat, calming his cough. It also made him feel sleepy and the next thing he knew he was lying down on the sofa while Jakotsu tucked the quilt from their bed around him.
Sighing softly, Jakotsu smoothed the quilt, before kissing him. Straightening, up he left the room as quietly as he could so that Bankotsu could sleep…

Summary: Jakotsu is dying to know what Bankotsu got him for Christmas, but Bankotsu is sick and not telling…
List/prompt: nice/gift
Author’s note: The kids referred to here are their cats, Banryu and Nekozawa. Please also note that this takes place immediately following the events in “Jingle all the way… or not”
Special thanks to Kat for coming up with the idea of Jak talking to the cats as well as Jen for helping me to bring this on home…
Jakotsu made his way as quietly as he could in his jingle bell mini, so as not to disturb Bankotsu. Their kids were curled up on their bed, Nekozawa busily grooming the scruffy Banryu. Jakotsu sighed. “Your father liked his present… I think.” He reached around to pull down the zipper. “It was kinda hard to tell, seeing how sick he is. I wonder if I should call your Uncle Sui.”
“Mew?”
He tickled behind Nekozawa’s ear. She purred at him. “I think you’re right. I will call him.” He slipped out of the mini, carefully hanging it up, before changing back into the clothes he had on earlier. “I guess I’ll have to wait to find pout what he got me for Christmas. He asked me the other day, but I was busy and didn’t get a chance to tell him, except for a few hints. Now he’s sick…” Jakotsu reached for the phone. Picking it up, he dialed his friend’s house. “Lingerie is always nice; a girl can’t have too many red teddies.” He giggled while he waited for Suikotsu to pick up. “And jewelry… I love jewelry and my Ban honey has good taste… Oh, hi, Sui! I was talking to the cats… just telling them what I hope I get for Christmas… Nice! Anyway, I called cuz Ban’s sick. He’s coughing and has a bit of a fever. I just gave him some warm milk with honey and a couple of aspirins… Okay… I know, Sui, that’s why I called. He’s not coughing anything up… I know… Yes, Sui, I don’t want pneumonia again too. Okay, I will… Bye…” he hung up.
Jakotsu hung up his mini. “Now where was I? Oh yeah... I was telling you kids about what I’d like my Ban honey to get me for Christmas…”
“Yeah..?” Bankotsu rasped.
“Yeah…” Jakotsu walked over to him. Wrapping his arms around Bankotsu, he said, “The best present would be for you to get better, Ban Honey.” He kissed his life-partner’s cheek.
“Thanks, Sweetness… I do feel a lot better than I did before.”
“That’s good, but you really should get some rest, Ban honey. I called Sui and he’s worried you could get pneumonia.” And so am I…
“I’m not that sick, Sweetness.” Bankotsu smiled. “But I do appreciate your concern.”
“Awe…” Jakotsu held him close. “As soon as you’re better, I wanna have fun.”
Bankotsu half coughed, half chuckled. “Me too.” Letting go of Jakotsu, he shuffled over to the bed and got in. “This feels much better.”
“Yeah?”
Bankotsu nodded. “Sweetness, I hope you don’t mind if we wait until tomorrow to open our presents. Right now, I’m feeling too crappy to even think about it.”
“Oh… Okay,” Jakotsu said, trying to hide his disappointment. “You just rest and call me if you need anything…” He waited, hoping Bankotsu would get the hint and at least tell him what he got him.
Bankotsu knew exactly what he wanted, but he was feeling crappy enough to not tell him. Plus he wanted to see the look on Jakotsu’s face when he opened the box and saw the diamond necklace and matching chandelier earrings. He yawned. “I’m going to try and get some sleep, Sweetness...”
“Okay… Feel better, Ban honey.”
“Thanks…”
Jakotsu spent the rest of the evening wondering what Bankotsu got him and looking after him. Every time Bankotsu looked well enough to go sit by the Christmas tree and exchange presents, he would have a sudden relapse. If he was not so sick, the cross-dresser thought he would have hit him for making him wait. Unable to take it any more, Jakotsu sighed, and after putting on his pajamas, he got into bed.
When they woke up the next day, Bankotsu was feeling a lot better. He kissed Jakotsu “good morning” and handed him the present he had been wondering about the day before. Jakotsu opened it, and finding the jewelry inside, he kissed Bankotsu long and hard…
