Title: The Diary of Awesome Me
Characters: Prussia, mention of America, England, Germany, Germania, Rome, Italy
Challenge: Drabble/Doodle Challenge July 2012: Freedom
Bonus Words: hope, future, depart
Rating: PG for brief mention of character death
Summary: Prussia and his diary of awesomeness
Author’s notes: Thanks to my beta, Jen, for coming up with a title.
Prussia scribbled in his diary a long diatribe about what a pain in the ass Hungary was and how she had no respect for him since he is just the ghost of a memory of a country. Taking a break, he leaned back in his chair, and listened to the faint sound of fireworks being set off in honor of America’s birthday and his freedom from England.
Snorting in amusement, Prussia remembered helping him gain his freedom all those years ago. Turning the page in his diary, he jotted down a few memories along with his hopes for a bright future for America. When he thought about it, the kid had the potential to be as awesome as he was if he would only stop worrying so much about being everybody’s hero.
Prussia sighed softly as his thoughts drifted to Germany. After being separated from his brother for more years than he cared to remember, he was finally back in his house, living together as brothers should, but more importantly, as the last remaining grandchildren of Opa Germania. Now there was someone made of awesome-sauce... he thought. Friend of that geezer, Rome, he wound up killing the old fool for being… well, an idiot! Somehow his brother was following in those footsteps, being friends with that dummkopf, Italy.
Thinking about Italy made him laugh, startling his little bird friend awake. “Sorry, mein Freund,” he said softly as the little bird ruffled its feathers, before settling down to sleep again. He scribbled again in his diary about how stupid West was, because it was painfully obvious that Italy loved him as much as he loved him.
Closing his diary, he decided he had had enough being alone. Time to depart for parts unknown… He got up and left his brother’s house.
