Summary: Shankar watches his brother play with the new baby and learns something about himself…
Shankar, taking a break from sweeping the fallen leaves off the path, watched his brother Ashok play with the baby. Since his brother was simple, he wondered if he would have to be more of a father figure to the child, instead of a doting uncle and sighed. Things were not going to be easy as the child grew older, but at least he had had some experience since most of Ashok’s caregiving had fallen to him, while growing up. Then it hit him, since his preferences ran towards men, this would be the closest he would get to fatherhood.
