Luke stared out the window, watching the snow fall. This would be his third winter here and he wondered if his sister and friends felt the same sadness he always felt at this time of year. Hearing the baby cry, he wondered if his sister was also a mother. The last time he had seen his friend Black Dog, he had told him his sister had taken up with the old shaman, Flaming Arrow and that Rabbit was some weird part of their family.

“You okay?”

Looking over at Shankar, Luke suddenly remembered why he had wanted to stay here…
