Today I went to see the cherry blossoms & enjoy the Saukra Matsuri festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It was a lot of fun, despite my messed up foot. (the stress fracture is back again T.T) I wore one of my kimono, had a very sweet woman form Japan come over to help me with it, went on a "tour" of the Japanese garden, ate a chicken bento lunch (have had better XD), had a few peeps take my pic & then came home. XD *is tired* The taiko drumming was awesome! Even if I was sitting on a bench & couldn't really see them, yo could still hear them! :D I Also got a white t-shirt with some goldfish on it. Very pretty & very simple. :D

Here's me in all my fat glory, by some cherry blossoms. XD

That sucks. do they have any idea why you're developing them. Repeated ones isn't that common. Work stress?

Yeah. They have no idea. I do spend all day at work on my feet, so maybe that's it?

You look beautiful and perfectly embody your graceful surroundings! :D Fat glory, my ass - your glory is PERFECT! :D *hugs* You are beautiful :D

Now, if your foot would just get with the program and heal up... life would be awesome :D

I love Taiko! Back in the day, my man played a mean Taiko :D

Awe... *BLUSHES* Thanks, n0t-chan! *huggles* No, I'm not. XD

I know, right? He thinks I've got another stress fracture. T.T I'm supposed to stay off it. *snorts* I'm lucky if I can sit for a 1/2 hour to an hour at work & it's not all at once. XD

Me too! Awesomeness!! :D

So am I. The doctor asked me if there was a history or osteoporosis in my family, but I said no. I know I eat very badly & maybe I'm not getting enough calcium in my diet, but I do drink milk & eat cheese.

It's also possible it never healed fully & even though I did wait like 2 months before going back to the gym in addition to the 3 months I wasn't able to go, but who knows? Before I started going to the gym I was a couch tater. XD

It could be. I am too and I'm older and about the same size give or take. Hmmm, your other friend has some good suggestions. I would suggest to the doc to do a vit D level. Unfortunately you're too young for a bone density test (they don't do anything if you're pre-menopausal), still it might be something to at least look at.

GERD medicines like Prilosec/Nexium/Prevacid can do it

Yeah? I'll have to remember to ask them to do it. Okay. n0t-chan was a nurse, before she decided to go back to school & change her career.

I didn't know that, but it makes sense. My dad takes Nexium & he's up his calcium in take. I only take antacids if I really need it.

yeah, stress fractures in the feet was MY former job before I had to change careers which why I'm trying to puzzle this out (and to help you of course if I can). It's just an odd thing.

Yeah? I didn't know that. Thanks! That's really awesome of you. Since they put it back in a soft cast, it's been feeling a lot better. Maybe I walk funny & being more of a couch potato than an athlete, all this on my feet( I'm on them running around at work like 7 hours a day) & trying to exercise has made for one very unhappy bone. XD

Yep I'm a podiatrist. That's what I went to medical school for.

That certainly can do it. I would take a good look at the shoes you're wearing to work as well. are they worn? etc

Date: 2015-04-28 07:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kiramaru7.livejournal.com
That's right! XD I think you did mention that before. XD

Thought so. XD I wear croc type shoes that are more comfortable than the sneaker type, which is the other choice they gave us. They're new. I got them at the start of the work year. (back in Sept.)

Date: 2015-04-28 09:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Well both crocs and sneakers are good for that sort of thing so maybe that's one thing you can cross off the list and look at other possible causes.

That's good to hear. And it had been feeling a lot better since it's been back in the soft cast. :D

*nods* Although, I did try with an ace bandage before I could get to my appointment. I must not have wrapped it right as it hurt worse. XD

that's possible. You could have caused the tissues to pull.
