Wolfgang opened the fridge and looked inside. There at back, behind the milk, was the container he was looking for. Taking it out, he poured about a two cupfuls into a pot. Placing the pot on the stove, Wolfgang opened and reached into the cabinet above it. He took out a jar of cinnamon sticks. Opening it, he took one out and used it to stir the apple cider that he was warming on the stove.
Breathing deeply, the rich scent of apples and cinnamon tickled his nose and Wolfgang sneezed. He continued warming and stirring the cider. A minute or two later, he turned off the stove and picked the pot up. Taking it over to the sink, he quickly got out a mug and poured the hot apple cider into it. He placed the rest on the stove and returning to the mug, he picked it up. Wolfgang sipped it. It was just warm enough to bring out the flavor of the cider. The cinnamon was a nice touch as it complimented the apples. He drank it, savoring the taste. It was a favorite fall treat and he was glad they had picked up two jugs of it from the farm stand they passed on the way home from apple picking.
