EDIT: I have a pic of me in that Gothic steampunky outfit & one of my sister in her fur-suit. She made the whole thing herself! Under the cut since this is long. XD (scroll down to see them)
I'm back & tired. I did have fun! I'm trying to decide whether to go back next year or try Anime Boston. XD When I do go, I'm bringing my latest costume; a Gothic steampunky Prussia. I just felt very girly in it, plus the boots I have to go with it are very comfy. ;p
If you go to any con & "Children Driving Robots" are there, go see them! They are snarkilicious, argue with each other & sometimes audience members, but it's all in good fun. They really are nice peeps. I was in the elevator with one of them & he couldn't apologize enough for the snarky remark I got when I thanked for such a fun panel. I knew the guy didn't mean when he said & I told him that. XD Vic Mignogna had this Star Trek panel that I went to & Let's say he made a better impression on me this time around. :D He & his friends (the nutters! <3) have gotten together & recreated the Enterprise sets, costumes, etc & have made some tribute shows. We got to see the latest one that was out & I swear it was just like watching the original show! I wish I wasn't so shy about telling him how much I liked it. XD CDR had like 3 panels I went to, one on Star Trek, one on Dr Who, & the other on 80's anime. ALL were AWESOME! I also went to a fun yaoi panel, it was mostly talking about the history of it, with a lot of good recs thrown in. :D I also went to a a panel about how the LGBT community was represented in anime & while it's mostly not good, the lesbian couple running it weren't judgemental, they simply pointed out what they had issues with & a lot of the time, even though a series had "issues" they stilled it as well as the gay character in it. It was really easy to get into bashing things, but they kept it light & positive. :D
Stuff I got, was some manga & candy for friends & a t-shirt with a tiger on it for me & some handmade earrings that were a bit steampunky (my sister got a ring there, but gave it to me as it didn't fit her right) & a petticoat. XD
Food was good. We at 1st night in the hotel, since it was RAINING (I've lived through 2 hurricanes & a possible tornado touch down & this was like Florida RAIN). Git a burger that they got wrong, but luckily I was able to peel off the the bacon (it was the more hammy like bacon stuff) & cheese. Fries were good, but $42 for 2 burgers (tip included) & 2 drinks, is A LOT. We ate the next day at thsi lil pizza place. Actually we got food & ate in our room since it was CROWDED. XD My Sicilian pizza was ice cold by the time I got to the room & awful. I think they didn't heat it up long enough. XD My sister's sandwich was good. We went back & just got regular slices. They were better & I was sorry I only got 1 instead of 2 as I was hungry later & wound up eating a bowl of cereal at 1 in the morning, cuz I had empty rumbly tummy. XD We brought cereal & milk & tea with us & water. XD
Lastly the room at the Marriott was awesome! When we got there we asked for 2 beds, but they didn't anymore rooms like that, so we had a king bed. Fear not, we were upgraded to a corner room! It was a short hall too, just 2 rooms aside from ours & we were close to the elevators & it was quiet. :D The room, besides space for a rollaway bed which we declined, had a mini fridge! :D No running around looking for ice. :D That was awesome just by itself. :D
(I need to see if I can swap out the plastic boning for steel in that corset so I can pull it in more. XD)
EDIT: While replying to a comment, I noticed you can't tell I'm wearing lace up boots. T.T
