Charlie sat in her room in Oz, petting Toto. She noted the little dog’s fur was the same brindled, charcoal grey as his predecessors. Dark, soulful eyes gazed up into hers. Sitting up, he barked and wagged his tail.

“Who wants a belly rub?”

Toto barked at her in reply and Charlie picked him up. Holding him like a baby, she rubbed his belly. He made a happy dog face at her and she smiled. Clicking her heels together three times, she said softly, “There’s no place like home…” Which Oz had become in the short time she was there.
