Castiel nearly walked past the dilapidated cardboard box. Dean had called and said he was on his way and to wait under the streetlamp. He was in a bit of a hurry, until he heard the soft mewling cry.
Castiel listened intently. He heard it again, and kneeling next to the box, he opened it. A pair of green eyes looked up at him.
“Mew.”
Castiel picked up the kitten. “I know what it’s like to be all alone and homeless.”
“Mew.”
“You’ll love the Bunker.” Carrying his new friend, Castiel told him about it, while he waited for Dean.
