Sven looked out the window at the moon’s reflection on the lake and picking up his paintbrush, he loaded a bit of pale, greyish-yellow paint onto it. Turning to his canvas, he began to paint the thin, horn-like, crescent moon. A little black paint mixed in and he painted the pale shadows that suggested the craters on its surface. Changing his brush for a fan one, he loaded some yellowish orange onto it.
Sven carefully moved the brush from side to side as he painted the glimmering reflection the moon cast upon the water. A bit of white and pale highlights were added, before Sven mixed in some black. He lightly and carefully painted the rippling movement of the water. Every so often, Sven would glance out the window and back at his painting of the mangata, the glimmering road-like reflection the moon cast upon the lake. When he was satisfied his painting was finished, Sven signed it and left it to dry, before cleaning his brushes and palette. When he was finished, he headed off to bed.
