“Where should we go on our honeymoon?” Didi said. He looked up from the pile of brochures that he and his fiancé, Tino, had picked up from the local travel agent. While they really could not afford anything extravagant, he still wanted to do something more romantic than staying in the little apartment they rented. “Maybe we could spend a weekend on the coast and then go into the city and visit the museums, or spend a day at the beach, playing in the ocean, or maybe go out and visit the vineyards and go wine tasting… Are you even listening to me, Tino?” Didi frowned.
Tino blushed. “Of course I’m listening to you. I was just imagining what it would be like married to you.”
“Oh…” Didi felt his cheeks heating up. He shyly ran his hand through his thick, blond hair.
Tino thought he looked adorable. He reached across the table and took his fiancé’s hand in his. “Then I realized being married to you would be pretty much like it now.” His eyes twinkled with mischief. “We’re already sleeping together.” He giggled when Didi’s blush deepened. “We’re sharing this apartment and it is one room.” Tino smiled. “And you kiss me good morning every day! And good night too! And well…”
“What?”
“I can’t wait to make it legal!” Tino squeezed his fiancé’s hand. Lifting it up, he managed to somehow entwine his fingers with Didi’s.
“Me too.” Didi smiled shyly. “So, where should we go on our honeymoon?” he said, bringing their conversation back to the matter at hand.
“We could go to that little bed and breakfast two towns over.” Tino reached for the brochure with his free hand, having not let go of his fiancé’s hand. “It’s got all that frilly stuff you like.”
“Yeah… And it does have several little galleries that you like.”
“Then it’s settled?” Tino turned the brochure over to get the phone number. He let go of Didi’s hand, blowing a kiss at him, as he got up to call the bed and breakfast to book a room.
“Yeah.” While his fiancé called to book a room, Didi gathered the brochures into a pile. He could not believe that this time next month, he and Tino would be married. It was, in his humble opinion, a fairytale come true.
