Tino loved art. He was always sketching whatever caught his fancy, including his boyfriend Didi. In fact, he had a whole sketchbook devoted to various portraits of him. He also had a couple of quick sketches of him in the sketchbook that he used for art class. It was easy to see Didi was his one and only muse.
It was while he was sitting in class doodling Didi, that Tino wished he could do some real “life study” drawings of him. He sighed softly and tried his best to pay attention to the boring lecture on Impressionism. Didi’s brother Bernd’s girlfriend, Amber had taken several classes on art history in college and the way she spoke about the things she had learned was so much more interesting. Even her text book chapter on the subject was better than his teacher’s droning on and on about Monet and his contribution to the movement.
He looked up and smiled, when something the teacher had said, spoke to him and got his creative juices flowing. “Ordinary scenes of everyday life” and slides of some of Renoir’s portraits meant he could paint Didi doing his homework. Tino’s smile broadened into a grin. He could not believe what his teacher was saying. They were to do a series of seven Impressionist style sketches for this week’s homework. Maybe he could do a quick sketch of Didi at lunch and another of Amber and Bernd making dinner, although, most of the sketches he wanted to do involved his boyfriend. Art class sped by as thoughts of all the sketches he was planning on doing danced in his head. Tino got up and gathered his belongs. He could not wait to start his art homework as this was going to be a fun project.
