Summary: Set in the precanon ‘verse, Jakotsu, while securing the place after a job well done, finds a kimono he likes…

Author’s note: Written for Lynx-chan as a fic exchange.
Jakotsu quickly secured the women’s quarters, even though he hated being there. Most of its inhabitants were dead; a few he had dispatched to the nether world, the rest apparently succumbing to Mukotsu’s poisonous gas. Nearing the last room to be secured, he heard the sound of someone crying.
Jakotsu entered the room, his Jakotsutou drawn and held at the ready, in case this was a trick. The only one in the room, besides himself was a young girl about Bankotsu’s age. She was sitting on the floor, crying, and when she looked up; her eyes were full of terror. “Please don’t hurt me…” she whispered, too afraid to speak.
Jakotsu grinned at her. “I won’t hurt you…” I’ll simply kill you, instead…
“No…?”
Ignoring her, Jakotsu found himself drawn to her kimono. It was crimson, and decorated with butterflies along the hem and sleeves. Ignoring the girl’s incoherent mumbling; he pictured himself wearing it, despite it being “soiled” by the piece of filth wearing it. “Take off your kimono.”
The girl looked at him wide-eyed, before bursting into tears. She thought for sure he would rape her. When he back handed her and yelled at her to hurry, she froze in terror.
Jakotsu, sick of waiting for her to obey, beheaded her with a quick swipe of his Jakotsutou. Reveling in the blood spraying all over him, he quickly stripped the kimono from her, leaving her headless corpse to bleed out. He held it up. It was no more bloodstained than the one he was wearing. A few minutes later, he was trying his obi around it, having exchanged his old kimono for the new.
“Now to go find Aniki-chan and celebrate,” he said to the headless corpse; kicking it, before leaving the room. Retracing his steps, Jakotsu found Bankotsu at the end of the corridor. “Aniki-chan! Everything’s clear over here!” he called out, waving.
Bankotsu turned, and headed over to him. “You okay, Sweetness?”
“Yeah…”
“Uh… where’d you get the new kimono?”
Jakotsu, throwing an arm around his lover, giggled. “I found it. Do you like it?”
“Yeah...”
