Summary: Agni gently chides Sebastian and gives him a bit of advice when it comes to dealing with their charges…
Warnings: none
“You must forgive my master,” Agni said to Sebastian. “But he does have a point. Sometimes you need to override your master’s orders when it’s for their own good. There have been times when I have had to be very firm with Soma and in this instance, if I was Master Ciel’s khansama, I would be extremely firm with him. Master Ciel is a child, and a delicate one at that, and he’s sick and has asthma and he should not be running around in the cold like that. Especially at night, when it’s so cold out.”
Sebastian frowned. As amusing as it was to have his friend give him a bit of a dressing down, he had to admit the Indian did have a point.
“I know he likes to behave like an adult, but he’s just a child, Mister Sebastian,” Agni repeated as he wanted to get his point across. “Children need to be guided and since both our masters don’t have any other adults in their lives to do so, then we have to take it upon ourselves to guide them and temper their high spirits as I do with Soma, and let them be children like you must do with Master Ciel. There’s plenty enough time for them to be an adult.”
Sebastian nodded “Yes… Thank you, Mister Agni, for your advice. Tomorrow, Ciel will be a child,” he said as he resolved to baby him. He had forgotten how delicate humans were in general and his master in particular.
“You’re welcome, Mister Sebastian.” Agni smiled, pleased that his fellow butler was not angry with him. “I was worried I had overstepped my bounds, but I felt that it should be said, especially since we’re friends.”
“Of course.” Sebastian smiled.
“Good, I’m glad you understand.”
“Indeed…”
