“No, sir! I’m not going to do it!” Kain said with a defiant thrust of his chin.
Roy Mustang’s eyes narrowed. “That’s an order, Mister.”
“”With all do respect, sir, I’m not doing it,” Kain said with deadly calm, despite the room suddenly feeling ten degrees warmer.
Ed snickered softly as he fiddled with the radio in the office, trying to find the station that played all those mushy love songs.
“I’m your superior officer, damn it, and when I give an order, I expect it to be obeyed.”
“I don’t care, sir, I’m not going to call Havoc. If he wants to go out with me so badly, then let him pick up the phone!”
“He’s got a point,” Ed said to no one in particular. He grinned when Roy leveled a death glare at him, before stalking out of the office, slamming the door behind him with a loud bang.
The phone rang a few minutes later as if on cue.
“I think that’s for you,” Ed said. Having finally found the radio station he was looking for, he headed for the door.
Kain picked up the phone. By the time Ed left the room to go look for Roy, Kain had a date with Havoc…
