Summary: Kouga being Kouga…

For Kat…
Kouga raced up over the rise of the hill, the wind whipping his hair back. He howled in joy at the thrill he got from the speed at which he was now able to run, thanks to a pair of jewel shards in his legs. He felt strong and invincible, and able to take on Naraku all by himself. Maybe this time he would do just that, instead of joining forces with ol’ Mutt Face and his pack of humans. The Kagome wench was pleasing on the eye and not half as scary as the taiji-ya, even if she was a miko. Plus it was fun to flirt with her and get a rise out ol’ Mutt Face. Kouga chuckled at the thought of his rival getting planted face first into the ground.
He raced down the hill, leaving clouds of dust in his wake. Reaching the flat plane at the base of the hill, he sped on. Kouga howled again, stopping only when he realized his companions never howled back. Turning around, he realized much to his amusement that he had left them behind. He sauntered over to a tree and flopped down to wait for them. He figured Naraku was not going anywhere special and with a bit of luck ol’ Mutt Face would flush him out and drive him towards him. If he was rested enough, then he would get his revenge and that would be sweet…
