LOVE the cover! (It felt like Yana-sensie was giving me an early bday pressie! ;p) Soma looks very tasty there & I was looking forward to seeing him again. His brief appearance was was fun, but overall, it was a silly chappie. It looks like we're heading into an Olympic parody on top of the Harry Potter one. ^^;

cool. I wish i could actually read the doujinshi. I've been into anime/manga for 30 years but I've never learned the alphabet (then again it wasn't really available until this latest wave from Japan)

I hear you! I own a few Iy doujinshi featuring Bankotsu & Jakotsu & the rest of the Bo7, but I can't read any of it beyond their names. XD

most of the doujinshi i see in my fandoms are rarely my pairings so i'm not often tempted but occasionally but my are they getting expensive (I lucked out someone once put up the scanlations for some of the doujinshis i wanted)

That happens. I was surprised to see so much Ban/Jak & Bo7 stuff. They are expensive. ^^; Now I just collect the ones I find online, which happen to be from Hetalia. I wish I could find a Soma/Agni one, I would definitely buy it, & someone was turning one of my fics into one, but they seems to have stalled after page 3. T.T

I have a few that are scanlated, but it's pretty easy to see what they're doing, even if I don't know what they're saying, when they're just the raws. ;p

Yeah? I know stuff was hard to find after the tsunami. I had gone to ICON a few months later, & they barely had anything in the marketplace. I didn't know it was still like that. I guess it';s slowly recovering. Taht said, I paid around $20, $25 each for my doujinshi. I did with one one once, by writing 30 drabbles for a Ban/Jak site a few years ago.

The sick thing is, from what I had read, they're not that expensive if you live in Japan. XD Even manga is relatively cheap there, although I could be wrong about that.

yes, i'm sure that plays a role, and the whole global economy and it's probably been 5 years since i thought about buying a poster.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're cheaper.

*nods* I hadn't thought about global economy, but yeah, that too. I only own one anime poster & It's a 3D Fruits Basket one, my brother gave me one year for my bday. The Hetalia one I have was a freebee they gave out at AnimeNext, & it's basically an ad for the anime, so I don't know if that really counts. ^^; Both hang by my compy.

If I remember what I read correctly, I think the article had said they were like $2, $3, some I can see being more, but not that much more. They're basically self-printed.

wow. I'm still trying to figure out how they can charge at all because of copyright laws but i assume it's different there

*nods* yeah... They kinda look the other way, since it's viewed as a form of advertizing. A lot of manga-ka started out making doujinshi, & some make their own for their official work. The manga-ka for Gravitation, has a series of very raunchy doujinshi fro Gravitation, which she did cuz, she wanted to explore things in a more "mature" way than she could being published in a mainstream magazine.
