Summary: America throws his annual Christmas party and is determined Nyo!England have a good time…
Author’s note: Nyo!England doesn’t have an official name, so I went with the popular Japanese fan nickname, “Igiko.”

For Angel …

America’s Christmas party was in full swing. His guests were milling about his house, spreading the holiday spirit and a good time was being had by all except, England’s “sister.” Most of the other countries refused to put up with her snarky attitude and as a result, she spent most of the party by herself in the corner. Not even her brother came over to talk to her. America sighed. There was only one thing he could do in this instance; as a hero and a host, he felt it was his duty to go make her have a good time. He bounded over to her like a hyperactive golden retriever puppy.

“Hey, Igiko,” he said, mangling the pronunciation of the nickname Japan’s sister gave her, making it sound like he had said, “Ego.” The nickname, despite her hatred of it, stuck, in much the same way everyone called her brother “Iggy.” The only saving grace about it was everyone else managed to pronounce it correctly.

“What do you want, Alfred?” She rolled her eyes at him, wishing he would leave her alone. She was an island nation and she liked her space, but there was just something about the bloody twit that gave her butterflies in her stomach.

“You don’t seem to be having a good time, so as your host, it’s my duty to give you one.”

“It is, now?” she said dryly as she folded her arms neatly across her chest.

“Yup!” America beamed at her. “Now let’s get you out this corner and into the light!” He reached out and took her hand, pulling her into the center of the room. “That’s better!”

England looked around in horror. All eyes were suddenly on them as the conversation level dropped from a low roar to a soft hush. She felt flustered which she did not like one bit. “Everyone’s staring at us now, you great big pudding!” she hissed, nostrils flaring. She was angry as all get out and the stupid git was just standing there, like a drooling idiot. She wanted nothing more than to box his ears and possibly knock a bit of sense into him, while she was at it.

“So?” America frowned. “Who cares?” He shrugged, and suddenly brightening, he added, “I bet they all wish they were you, since you’re now having a great time with me!”

She blinked. Don’t you hear yourself talk when you open your mouth? “Real great,” she said sarcastically.

“Awesome!” he cried, totally missing her sarcasm.

England sputtered helplessly, her cheeks flushed with anger. How dare that twit?! He’s bloody impossible!!

“You wanna dance? Jingle Bell Rock has a good beat.” America smiled as he took her by the hands.

Before she could say anything in reply, France strolled over to them. He smiled at them and waggled his eyebrows, getting a blank stare from the two of them. “Aren’t you going to kiss?”he asked, looking upwards.

“NO!” England cried when she noticed they were standing under the mistletoe.

“But it’s tradition!” American insisted as she struggled to get her hands out of his vice-like grip. Just as he leaned in to kiss her, her brother noticed what was going on and he barreled his way over to them.

“Get away from my sister, you bloody wanker!” he roared.

France grinned. This was all going much better than he had planned. He nodded at Prussia, who, when England was close enough, gave him a gentle shove. France grabbed Igiko as England fell forward only to be caught by America. All hell broke loose, ten seconds later, when America planted one on the startled England’s lips. They broke apart, America laughing, while England sputtered wordlessly at him. Even Igiko was hard pressed to suppress a smile. She always thought her brother was just as big a half-wit as their former colony and this proved it. It was well worth the kiss France stole from her in the end, just to see the look on her brother’s face after he had been kissed. “Great party, Alfred!” she said as she walked passed him to go back to lurking in her corner…
