Summary: Set in my modern AU, Bankotsu and the band he manages, Youkai, have a meeting to discuss what to call their new album…

“I think we should call it ‘firecracker.’” Sesshomaru said as he helped himself to another donut. He and the rest of his band, Youkai, were sitting in a conference room at Lucky 7 Records, trying to come up with a name for their next album. “We did finish recording it on July fourth.”

“Yeah, but this is Japan, not America,” Bankotsu, the band’s manager and owner of the record label, reminded him.

“So?”

“So, the cultural significance is going to be lost here,” his brother Inuyasha reminded him.

“Your brother’s got a point, Sessh,” Bankotsu said.

“Oh…” Sesshomaru said between bites.

“What about ‘watermelon’?” Naraku said. “It’s summery and people like melons here. Hell, just about any melon is popular here.”

“No…” Bankotsu rubbed tiredly between his eyes. “Come on, guys, be serious.”

“Okami,” Kouga said. “What?” he said when everyone looked at him.

“It’s brilliant!” Sessh said. He washed his donut down with a mouthful of coffee.

“It works for me, Ban,” Miroku said. “So if we’re finished here, I’m going to get going.” He stood up to leave along with his fellow band-mates, leaving the “mess” for Bankotsu and his secretary to clean up.

“I think we’re done here, Ban,” Sesshomaru said. He finished his coffee, setting the empty cup on the conference table.

“You think?” Bankotsu said as he wondered how he lost control of the meeting. Not that he really minded as they could have gone on for days before they finally settled on a name, but still, this had been too easy. The album had been recorded without a hitch in just over a month and now they had come up with a name just like that. “You guys discussed this before I called a meeting, right?”

“Uh, yeah…” Inuyasha shrugged.

“Oh…”

“Look, the kids are out of school next month and Sango and I wanted to spend time with them, before they go back and we go out on tour,” Miroku said.

“I see,” Bankotsu said. “And the rest of you are okay with this?”

“Yup.” Naraku said. “Kiks and I decided to rent one of those summer cottages on the beach for the month.”

“Basically we all have plans, Ban, so you and Jaki go enjoy yourselves,” Inuyasha said.

“Yeah… It’ll be nice having a month off to go do nothing,” Kouga said. “We’re thinking of going State-side to visit our parents.”

“And I want to enjoy Aiko before she grows up,” Sesshomaru added.

“I guess it’s settled then. ‘Okami’ will be the title of your next album and I’ll look into getting together a promo tour. Enjoy the next month and half off, guys,” Bankotsu said.

Youkai left amid a flurry of “thank yous” and “byes” as the band left his office. Bankotsu waited for the door to close behind them, before he picked up the phone and dialed. When his life-partner answered the phone, he said, “Hey, Sweetness? Fine… How’d you like to go away to Paris? Yeah? Then start packing, cuz when I’m done here, I’ll make a few calls. I’m sure I can book something on short notice… Yeah, people do it all the time. See you in a bit… Yeah, I love you too. Bye.” He hung up and opened his laptop. Several minutes later, he had not only booked a nice vacation for the two of them, but he was on his way home…
