Hi, I don’t normally do this but our local drive-in is struggling to stay open. Originally, they were not even going to be open this summer after closing early last year. They are making more money than usual this year but it is not enough. If they do not convert to digital equipment, they will no longer be able to receive movies as film movies are going to stop being distributed at the end of the year. They are entered into the Honda Project Drive-In Contest and have been distributing this flier:

On August 9th, the 2013 Honda Project Drive-In Contest opened. They are entered as a contestant, and they are asking for help. The top five theaters in the voting will receive new digital equipment from Honda. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: You will need to go to their website everyday and vote. There is only one vote per e-mail address per day, but you will need to vote every day from August 9th to September 9th. The website is www.projectdrivein.com

Please spread the word and share the information with anyone you know that will be interesting in helping the drive-in stay open.

I they are the only drive in from California entered in the contest. (It does look like it is in Oregon on their map though.)

Even if they do win, they will still have to raise a lot of money for other upgrades to accommodate the equipment but winning would be a great start.
