They had never consciously set out to do this. No formal declarations of love or anything like that. No one said, “Give me tonight and I’ll be yours forever,” in a voice dripping with lust or anything stupid. It was completely and totally unexpected. Hell, neither one thought to even go out and buy a bottle of lube or box of condoms. Good friends, they simply took advantage of the moment, or rather got caught up in it.
Things had started out innocently enough. They were sitting together on Touya’s bed, studying for a biology test. In fact, they had been quizzing each other over the material on the test, when Yuki got a faraway look in his eyes. “I dated my teacher, Mizuki Kaho.”
“You did?” Yuki’s eyes were wide with surprise.
Touya nodded. “I was fifteen and she was my homeroom teacher and well… she was special and thought I was special, and before breaking up-”
“So that’s how you know about kissing,” Yuki said, cutting his friend’s admission off mid-thought.
“Yeah…”
“Did you… you know?” Yuki said as a delicate blush stained his cheeks.
Touya shook his head. He looked away and back. “She told me to wait for the one I loved the best. It hurt cuz I didn’t know what she meant at the time, but now I do.” He cupped Yuki’s cheek, before leaning in and kissing him.
“Who’s the one you love best?” Yuki whispered against Touya’s lips.

Shyly pulling back, they both got up and got undressed. It was nothing neither one had not seen before in the locker room. Another kiss and a few heated touches, and the awkwardness disappeared. Not really sure of what exactly to do, they fumbled around in Touya’s bed, keeping things light as they explored each other’s bodies. He did lead the way, but Yuki worried he was just doing it to prove his point; that what they had just done was relatively the same as between a boy and a girl. He sighed softly.
“You okay, Yuki?”
“Yeah…” He blushed and looked away.
“Ummm…” Touya said as awkwardness settled between them. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have pushed you to do it” He rubbed the back of his neck.
“Don’t be. I…” Yuki’s blush became deeper. “I liked it…”
“Yeah?”
Yuki nodded. “I umm… I guess we’d better get back to studying, ne?”
“Yeah.”
Sitting back on the bed, they picked up their textbooks and continued studying. Both figured there would be time enough to figure out where to go from there. For now, they had a biology test to worry about. While it did not make studying any easier, it did make night that much sweeter as they snuggled together in Touya’s bed, the futon Yuki had brought over to sleep in, still rolled up where he had left it.
