kiramaru7I got back last night, instead of this afternoon, not cuz I had a bad time, it was only that we found ourselves with nothing to do except wait around for the rave that night. *sighs* They had closed the dealers' room at 6 instead of 9, like it said in the schedule. >.> Anyways... that's the end, let's go back to the beginning. :D
I live on the Island so driving to Jersey is nothing. We planned to leave at 9 am & if all went well, we would have arrived at 10:30, which really isn't a hike at all. That was until we hit Staten Island & the traffic from HELL. o.0 It was like instead of doing some road work, which technically should have slowed things down to 40, they built a parking lot. XD Add a cop pulling someone over, for what I have no idea, unless it was broken tail lights >.> & you have "we're never going to get there!" So luckily for us, my sister is a human GPS, so we took the scenic tour of Staten Island & bypassed all the traffic. we get to con, drag our sorry butts up to check in counter, thank Hilton Honors rewards! & checked in, hour later than planned, but still good, & drag everything up to the room. We get a room, get settled, I throw on a wig & Gilbird, & we go get our badges & eat lunch. As we're leaving I run into this Prussia from last year, we say hi, & I spend the day running into here, & probably being a pain in her arse cuz of it, but hey, I was modern!Prussia, who by this time was happily sponging off Germany & living in his basement. ;p She was Prussia from Old Fritz's time, so spoiling for a fight & not happy with her future!self. ;p I figured, I wasn't cool enough or thin enough to hang with. ;p Her loss as they say.
So anyways, we go back to the room & I change into full fem!Prussia & My sister puts on her Homura cosplay from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. http://zotaku.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/27091104.jpg (pic of Homura for those how don't know the series)we wander around taking pix like a couple of Japanese tourists. ;p We're in the lobby when I hear someone calling me & I turn around & this girl dressed up like Japan comes over & we hung & squeal like school girls, cuz we hung out a bit last year. It was nice to get that kind of a reception. More wandering around. As fro panels, it doesn't pay to go to them as a) they're hard to find & b) they're often cancelled without warning, or c) in some rare cases they've been moved & you either don't know that or if you do, you can't find them. XD While walking around, I was told there was a Hetalia meet & shoot, so we went to that. It was smaller than last year's, but it was also better organized. :D
More wandering around & pic taking. XD We also went back to the room & watched their anime stream. I have discovered that I still HATE "Slayers" with a passion... ^^; They also played "Gundamn Seed" which was pretty good & some other show that I never caught the name of. XD Then we ordered what we thought was going to be pizza, but turned out to be pasta instead as the pie was less than the minimum delivery. T.T Not that we would have eaten a whole anyways. XD More wandering around. We went to check out the overflow hotel just to see it as well as find my sister's friend, which we did & we said hi & left. My then my boots were killing me, so I changed back into my own clothes. How sad is it that I normally wear stuff that Prussia would? ^^; So more wanderings & hanging out & then it was time to go to the Rave. This was like us 2 dorks, but yeah... ;p http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00bpk0g we had fun! I did get KICKED in my bad knee by an over enthusiastic break dancer. Unfortunately it was kinda my fault as I couldn't get out of the way fast enough, but then again, I had no where to go as peeps behind us were pushing forward so they could see him. ^^; My knee still hurts. T.T I'm actually lucky they missed my kneecap, they caught it just above & to the side, but still... I feel like I was kicked by a horse. T.T Okay, a miniature horse, but still... ;p
So Saturday was more of the same. This time I was dressed like Teutonic Knights, aka chibi!Prussia & had several peeps take my pic. I met another one in passing & we took pix together. :D Also at the photo shoot, there was a cute fem!Italy with braids, Think cross-dressing!Italy, who had a Germany Mochi, & I got to hold him in a pic. YAY! Which leads me to the only Germany there... *fans self* Omg! What a hottie! Anyways, I saw him, called out Germany, he looked over at me, I went "Bruder!" & held my arms out for a hug & got HUGGED!!! I thought I was going to end up on the floor covered by a Germany blanket! ;p I got a pic of us just standing there, & of course a few others had to take our pic too. We hung out for a few, admired each other's boots, & aside from corset trying on & buying (I LOVE that dang thing! Not only does it flatten my stomach, but it makes my Cs look like DDs! ;p And gives me a nice hourglass shape. For someone who's short-waisted, that's a big deal. :D) And then we went back to our room, packed, checked out, & left for home. :D More traffic getting home, but at that point we didn't really care as it always backs up in those spots anyways.
We're really dorks, who go more for the atmosphere & hanging out, rather than anything else. But who cares? We have fun! :D

Date: 2014-06-08 08:02 pm (UTC)The knee's still a bit sore, but the mark is finally fading. I'm just happy it didn't bruise & missed my knee cap. It's the knee cap that likes to pop out of place, so I was worried it would have messed it up really bad, but luckily it didn't. I was talking to a girl who was complaining about an elevator injury. Apparently her ankle has some screws in it & when she stepped out of it it bounced, & did something to it. All I know is the poor thing couldn't walk too well & was in pain. It's a nice venue/hotel, but they seriously need to replace the elevators there. Last year I was stuck in one for like 20 minutes or so, before it started moving & I could get out. XD

Date: 2014-06-08 10:04 pm (UTC)Yup...>.> Well they did widen this lil foot bridge over a mostly dry creek, so that you can get peeps coming & going over it. Maybe next year, they'll fix the elevators. If they do them one at a time, it'll take longer, but you'll still have 3 going until they've all been replaced. Some peeps I rode elevators with would get out if it jumped. XD

We'll take the train, so I have bring less costumes/clothes. I had a small carry-on & a large weekender. That's too much crap to be carting through Penn Station. XD Plus we want to bring a cooler. We did here & it was great, to have cold water on hand as well as cold milk for coffee & tea in the morning. :D I only filled it up once with ice from the hotel, cuz our ice-maker couldn't make enough to fill it, but everything stayed cold & we saved money there.

There were a lot of Sailor Moon peeps too & that's an old one. I even saw a Master Roshi from Dragonball. ;p Peeps still love the old shows which is awesoem! :D
