Benny LaFitte sat in the boat and waited for the fish to start biting. He was at his favorite fishing spot on the bayou, where the gators don’t pay a body any mind; the snapping turtles left his bait alone, and there was not another soul around. The only thing that could make this little summer jaunt of his better was possibly his new friend Dean.
He closed his eyes, imaging Dean was with him, sipping his beer and making stupid comments about the heat and humidity. His phone rang. “Hey, Dean,” Benny drawled, “I was just thinking ‘bout you.”
