“Hey, Amber! Rocky Horror’s playing tonight at the Orpheum!!” Bernd said excitedly. “There’s going to be a midnight showing!! We should go!!”
“Yeah?” Amber shook her head at his enthusiasm.
“Yeah!!”
“And you think Vati’ll let us go?”
Bernd frowned. “I don’t see why not? We’re not in high school anymore.”
“True, but college isn’t the easiest thing,” Amber said, leaving “for you” unsaid.
He grinned. “So you wanna go and we can dress up and it’ll be fun!!”
“Don’t you even pause for breath?” she teased. “And dress up how?”
“Like someone from the movie!!”
“Oh.”
“You don’t want to go?”
“No, I do, but I don’t really want to dress up like someone from the movie,” Amber said as visions of her going as Janet danced in her head. While she thought he would make an interesting Brad with his pink hair, Amber really did not want to listen to him whine all night about him being cold. She hoped she did not hurt his feelings, but going out in public in her underwear… that was a “Hell No!” in ten foot high capital letters in her humble opinion.
“Oh, okay. I thought maybe you and James would go as Magenta and Riff Raff.”
“Oh.” Amber smiled. She was relived the characters had more clothing on, but she did not own anything that would pass as a maid’s outfit.
“Yeah. I was thinking of going as Frank N. Furter!” Bernd grinned.
“And while I think you’d make an awesome one, let’s just dress outrageously and be a couple of Transylvanians. We could still get up with everyone else and do the ‘Time Warp’ in the aisle. And we can do all the other fun stuff.”
“Okay.” Bernd grinned. “So wanna go to the thrift store and find something to wear before all the good stuff’s gone?”
“Sure.”
And with that, they headed out to the thrift store where they found the perfect outfits.

Date: 2015-11-15 03:09 pm (UTC)It's odd but I've never dressed up for Rocky. It's always ended up where I didn't have a chance to put something together. I had a friend in high school though that got sent to a shrink when his mother found out he was going as Frank.
