Wolfgang opened a box of candy canes and hung them on the Christmas tree. While they were supposed to be decorations for the tree, he knew that his son and the grandkids would be pilfering them the minute they thought he wasn’t looking. Not that he minded in the least as he, himself, had been known to indulge in a bit of “thievery” concerning the peppermint treats. Occasionally, he would find boxes of different flavored and colored candy canes in the store, and those would be added to the tree to fill in the spots left by the missing ones.
