Tohma listened to the sound of water running in the bathroom and sighed. He felt a lot older than his twenty five years, the guilt he felt over the sixteen year old’s ordeal overwhelming his calm. Sitting down on one the hotel room’s beds he went over the events again and again in his head. He still couldn’t figure out how he had managed to calmly take charge, get Eiri properly seen to, sweet talk the police into hushing it up even though several crimes had been committed, not to mention avoiding arrest for Eiri, and lastly, avoiding deportation back to Japan as dangerous individuals or worse.

He rubbed his temples tiredly, chasing the headache that blossomed behind his eyes away. What he really wanted, besides the power to go back and change history, was a stiff drink. He wanted to get as drunk as his friend Kitazawa had been so he could forget the whole ugly incident even as he cringed at the thought. Rubbing his hands over his face, Tohma sighed in frustration. Had he know Kitazawa was capable of such unspeakable behavior he never would have encouraged them to spend so much time together.

Awakened from his reverie when the running water stopped, Tohma quickly pulled himself together. He looked up, smiling sadly at Eiri when he emerged from the bathroom. The six teen year old looked around nervously, running a hand through his wet hair. He had been in the shower for over an hour and judging by the look on his face, Tohma had the feeling there was not enough water on the planet to wash him clean.

“Do you want to go to sleep?”

Eiri shrugged, his lower lip trembling as his eyes welled up with tears. Several tense minutes passed, before his face crumbled in sorrow, his ragged sob cutting Tohma like a knife. The twenty five year was at his side in an instant, wrapping the younger boy in his arms as he cried his heart out.

“Ssh… It’s okay, Eiri… I’m here …” he said softly. “I promise I won’t let anything bad happen to you again,” Tohma murmured, his words sounding hollow in his ears even though he meant them.

Eiri must have heard his intent, for he relaxed and his sobbing soon gave way to hiccups.

Tohma sighed in relief as he led him to the bed, tucking him like a small child. Dimming the lights, the twenty five year old gave him one last look before going to shower. I swear by all that I hold dear, Eiri, I will keep you safe… forever…

Oh this is so incredibly meltingly sweet. I love Tohma tucking his Eiri-boy into bed and how much he loves him. <3

Thank you, Sensei! It's a bit sketchy in the story itsefl, but Kitazawa got drunk & there were 2 thugs with him & he sold Eiri to them fro $10. He was raped & somehow got hold of a gun & shot them all. These events took place in NY and it did a lot to shape the man Eiri is when we meet him in the manga. Tohma will go to marry his (Eiri's) sister Mika. (They're married for about 3 years at the start of the manga) These events also have a lot to do with Tohma's attitude towards Shuichi.

XD That backstory is woven through the story as a whole. Yeah, Shu-chan is a bit of a pest; my friends & I call him a Uke's Uke. ;p But if you cna get passed that, it's not a bad story. The novels aren't the greatest; I've read much better fanfiction, ^^; but the manga itself borders on pure crack! at times. XD My only complaint, is the sequal seems to ahve just stopped after 1 volume & they leave you hanging which sucks.

I think that type of thing would be so perfect for the modern-day Jak (we call her "Jack") in the world of this fic. Just more kimono-ish I guess and the beautiful style you do your art with? The one in the front I just ADORE for Jak! What do you think?

Now as for "fun" - I totally relate, but it's so much work and it is a gift that I'm directly asking for (aka commissioning)... How about LJ gift $$? Or sending you some manga or anime you're longing for? Something?

It's really not as much as you think. Seriously. Say 10 minutes to sketch it out & another 5 to scan in. Plus about 4 hours of coloring, so 4 1/2 hours to 5 tops, is it. Would you like me to rpint out & send you a signed copy? I can do that if it's a gift for someone. No trouble at all. I have some cardstock that I can print it on.

Hmmm... *thinks* Ummm... That's really nice of you. There's nothing I'm lusting after at the moment.... a copy of the first Dragon riders of pern book would be cool. (I've been told I would like it, so I want to read it.) Or if you cna't find that, IY volume 36. I thought I had it & bought 37 instead. XD Or Fushigi volume 12 0r 14. Please don't get more than 1 book... That's only choices to make your life easier when in the bookstore. Seriously.

And this is for a fic Talon and I are co-writing. Well, she has written most and I have joined in. Modern-day Japan, Sesshoumaru with his mute brother (loses his voice after his mother dies and comes to live with Ani) and his whore houshi Miroku. And for whoreMir's birthday, he "buys" him his favorite hooker for the night, "Jack." High-class, very expensive, and they fuck in his limo ... (That's one chapter of it anyhow...we have talked it through but not written it yet...)

Meanwhile, Talon also suggests that if you describe a fic you'd like us to co-write for you in exchange for the art (and I can easily get you the Pern book or IY too), we'd happily do a BanJak or whatever you might like from us. :)

So let me know how you want Jak dressed, similar to the ref pic or what? I knwo we mentioned a kimono, but that's like almost too much clothes. ^^; But if he's high class, then he'd probably be dressed somewhat normally, so he wouldn't stand out. If he's walking the streets, then advertizing his wares is one thing, but he sounds like this is more word of mouth, special favor for a special client. ;p Think geisha & how exculsive they are. So let me know EXACTLY how he's to be dressed Then I can whip up a quick sketch. The more specific you guys are, even if you give me the passage where he shows, the better, so I can draw what you're envisioning rather than what I'm seeing in my head.

Call-girl type then. With a short kimono you'll see plenty of leg, but not much body. Kimono conceal rather than show off. I can give him thigh high tabi like Kotoko form Chobits. His obi bow wouldn't be as big as hers, but is this what you're looking for? wooden geta are fine, I can play with them to make them more wedged shaped to resemble high heels.

Hair in chopsticks is fine. Ummm... Fangs on his face or exaggerated Geisha makeup?

*giggles* Now you've got me wanting to dress up in gothic Lolita wear. XD (not the greatest pic, butyouknwo the style. ;p

Meanwhile, yeah, I really like that kinda sexy modern-day pseudo-kimono and the tough/sexy look. No sword, could show a dick bulge if you don't want to expose him outright, and then tinker with whatever else you like. Whatever you do, trust me, we'll love it.
