“What is he doing?” Balthazar said as he came over to Gabriel, who was watching little Castiel play. He peered intently over his fellow angel’s shoulder.
“I got him a pet.” Gabriel smirked.
“It looks like a worm on a string.” Balthazar sat down next Gabriel.
“That’s because it is a worm on a string.”
“Oh…” Balthazar idly wondered what God was thinking when he put Gabriel in charge of little Castiel. Then again, Castiel did need a sense of humor and Gabriel had more than enough of that to go around.
They idled away the afternoon, watching Castiel play.
