Writerly stuff

Both COM & I are doing well with our writing. I managed to finish my 1st bingo fic by adding 564 words to it, before sending it off to my beta. When I get it back, I'll be adding & subtracting words from it, but that's normal.

Tomorrow, hopefully I won't be too tired from my road trip to write. I need to keep working my bingo ficcage. XD

I did thanks! We got up before the butt crack of dawn to drive down to Maryland to see some bald eagles. They hang out at this dam/power plant (where they built a nice lil park/viewing area) to watch them catch fish & do some eagle stuff. :D

Thanks, but Dad researched it before we went. He said when they open the dam & the water comes rushing out, the fish get stunned & it sparks a feeding frenzy. That never happened while we were there, but it was still cool to see them. :D

Yeah! XD But I did manage to finish a fic & start another one. :D Since kira can't count, I still have 5 fics left to go (not the 4 I thought XD), but one is one that just needs an ending for my free space & I started another. My goal is to be finished by Thanksgiving.

my plot is no longer what it was but I don't know what it is, more like it's becoming a plotless piece of crap.

Oh carp! Do you know about when you took a left turn into "plotlessness"? Keep the part where you "messed up" and pick it up from there. And maybe do the rewrite tomorrow. You might be trying too hard & rushing things. The "bad part" might be useful for something else, so that bit of writing isn't lost.

It went off the rails about immediately. The problem I think is more what I mentioned last night. It's degenerating into talking heads. Solan and the villains are so poorly developed it's getting hard to deal with their scenes.

Aaah... Hmmm... thinking* What if you just carry on & finish things, & then go back & beef up your villains? Just write whatever craptatic dialogue that pops in your head for them, having them twirl their mustaches & chew the scenery & when it's done, then you edit it into something you're proud of.

That's basically what i plan on doing. That and character sheets and hammer out what they want and why. the story went in a different direction than I thought so it's throwing me.
