Yay!! :D

Today I went to the City on a photo-trip to see the Oculous at the site of the old World Trade Center & we also visited the reflecting pools. The Oculus is really cool, it has boutique-y shops inside & places to eat, plus they had an exhibit about the Sistine Chapel. The reflecting pools outside made me sad. It had the names of the peeps who died there on it. T.T

Then we went & took the Path train to Jersey & took pix there. We also ate at a beirgarten there! It was fun!! I got a brat & had some beer. :D Then back to the pier for more pix of the City skyline. I fed the poor pigeons. XD They need love too. It was cute how they all lined up for me to toss bits of my bagel at them. XD


After that we came back & walked to Battery Park to see the fish carousel!! I finally got to ride it!! It was sooo much fun!! :D I have a ticket for another ride (it's good until Dec 31 of next year). :D It's smaller than I thought it'd be, but it was still fun! I sat in a fish & spun around went up & down. You're supposed to feel like a fish in a bowl. XD It's really pretty how the fish change colors. :D

Thanks! It was a fun day, but a TON of walking. My poor knee was not happy yesterday. XD The carousel was awesome, even if 1/2 the fish had no riders. XD There was a sign on them, that I saw when they'd "swim" past saying something about refurbishing. XD They looked just fine to me. They went up & down & changed colors like they should... *shrugs* My only issue with it was being short & not very flexible, it was a bit hard getting in & out of them. So maybe that's what the refurbishment was about? Making them a wee bit more accessible. I could have ridden one of the more accessible ones, but they didn't move. XD I did like being "inside" my fish instead of just sitting on it. That made me feel more like a fish. :D

They're like a regular chair size. Being short & a lil stiff, made it hard to climb up & then climb out. XD I think you could ride it if you ever get the chance to visit! :D

Yeah? XD Cuz the nearby peeps kept trying to shoo them away & kept giving me dirty looks cuz of all the pigeons that eventually showed up. XD

Well, yes, most people probably shoo them away, but there are always people that feed the pigeons. Its kind of like here and the seagulls. Most of us avoid them, but there is that person who starts feeding them and next thing you know their car is completely covered in seagulls and they are harassing the rest of us and stealing people's food right out of their hands, though I don't think pigeons are that aggressive.

Okay. :D Peeps do that here too at the beach! The seagulls are sooo brazen now & they do & will steal your food if given half a chance! XD Pigeons are are more gentle. they might swarm you, but it's not aggressive like seagulls. XD
