“Hey, Boss!” Mine said as she entered Ayame’s shop. “I brought you a present!”
Aya came out from the back of the shop, where he did most of the work that went into creating his “fantasies.” He hurried over to his beloved, who was more than just an employee, she was his muse. “Hi, Mine-chan. What did you bring me?” he asked, before launching into a long-winded guessing game.
Mine giggled. She patiently let him talk himself out and when he finally paused to take the proverbial breath, she gave him a slight bow as she handed him a small, cloth wrapped box.
“Oooh… How pretty! Thank you so much!” Aya took the proffered box and gently shook it. “I wonder what it could be?! And to what do I owe this honor?! It’s not Valentines’ Day, is it?”
“Just open it!”
“Will do!” Aya quietly untied the furoshki, revealing a plain, wooden box. He opened that. “Are you sure, it’s not Valentines’ day?” he teased. He fished out one of the several chocolate covered marshmallow pops inside the box and took a bite out of it.
“Very sure,” Mine sassed back. She smiled. “I remembered how much you liked them when I gave them to you for Valentines’ Day and I had a bag of marshmallows at home, so…” She shrugged as she tried to hold back her giggles. It turned out her boss loved his Valentines’ Day gift, especially the dark chocolate covered ones. Since they were so easy to make, Mine often surprised him with them. “Happy Late Summer’s Day!”
“Happy Late Summer’s Day to you too!” Aya helped himself to another one, after offering one to Mine first. “Thank you, my dear.”
“You’re welcome. So let’s get to work, those dresses aren’t going to make themselves!” Mine said as she headed to the back of the shop where Aya’s workshop was.
“Yes, ma’am!” Aya said as he trailed after her.
