Author’s note: Special thanks to Kat, for pinking this for me.
Walking through Shinjuku Chuo Park on their way to the train station, Jakotsu spotted a couple of dandelions growing in the grass. He giggled and pulling his life-partner Bankotsu along, he hurried over to them. As luck would have it, there was one that had gone to seed. Jakotsu carefully picked it. Closing his eyes, he made a silent wish, and taking a deep breath, he blew the seeds into the air. Spotting another one, Jakotsu bent down to pick it.
“What are you doing?” Bankotsu asked.
Jakotsu giggled at the puzzled look on his life-partner’s face. “I was making a wish, and no, I’m not going to tell you what I wished for.” He held the dandelion up to Bankotsu’s lips. “Close your eyes, make a wish, and blow.”
Bankotsu chuckled. If they were home, he would do just that in a heartbeat. He waggled his eyebrows at his life-partner. Jakotsu’s red lips looked so kissable and if the flower was not in his way, he would have kissed him right then and there. He sighed. “Do I have to?”
“Of course you do. It’s fun, Ban Honey. I used to do this all the time when I was a kid.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah! Now make a wish and blow!” Jakotsu pouted.
“Okay.” Bankotsu closed his eyes. He made a wish, and holding Jakotsu’s hand, he blew. The seeds caught on the breeze and floated away. “I made my wish, let’s go.” Lacing his fingers with Jakotsu’s, he started walking towards the train station.
“Yeah?” Jakotsu smiled as he walked along with his beloved.
Bankotsu nodded. “Oh, and I’ll let you know if my wish came true or not.”
“Really?” Jakotsu giggled and leaned against him.
Bankotsu nodded again. The way things were going; Jakotsu would not have to wait long for his answer. He kissed his life-partner’s fingers, before letting go of his hand as they entered the train station. It was then that Bankotsu mentally smacked himself in the forehead. Why didn’t I wish for a quick train ride home, instead of a fun afternoon in bed…? Cuz I’m an idiot, that’s why…!
Seeing the pained look on his life-partner’s face, Jakotsu gave him a quick peck on the cheek. He had a feeling he knew what his beloved wished for. He wondered if he should tell him what he wished for as they made their way onto the train platform. Then again, the two of them could while away the time on the ride home trying to guess what the other wished for. Mentally shrugging, he got on the train with Bankotsu and as luck would have it, there was an empty seat, which they took. Leaning against each other, they held hands, their wishes forgotten.
