For Kat…
Amber filled the kettle and placed it back on the stove. She turned the burner on under it. Walking over to the cabinet by the sink, she took out her favorite mug. She also grabbed a spoon from the drawer in case she needed a bit of sugar in her tea. While the kettle heated up, she went to the pantry to get a tea bag. While she was there, Amber spotted the loose tea Bernd had given her. She was saving it for a “special occasion,” and yet, none seem to happen. There was New Year’s and Bernd’s upcoming birthday, but neither one was what she would want to celebrate by having a special cup of tea.
When the kettle began whistling, Amber grabbed the box of loose tea. Leaving the pantry, she switched off the stove and got out a tea ball. She filled it with her special blend, stuck it the mug, and poured the hot water from the kettle over it. Amber set a timer for three minutes. When it went off, she removed the tea ball, placing it in the sink. She then got out the milk and added it to her tea. After putting the milk away, she sipped her tea. Amber added a pinch of sugar to it and sipped it again. It was perfect. If anyone asked, she would tell them, she was celebrating herself and if they did not like it, too bad. Sipping her tea, Amber decided to celebrate herself more often.
