I work in a school doing childcare. Yesterday, we got a notice, while at work, that school would be closed today as a staff memember tested positive for the corona virus. One of the women I work with found something about a HS student in our district that came home from Spain on Saturday & was sick with it on Sunday. I found out that the school where I used to work, someone is sick with it & that they were cleaning the school. I just got a text saying school is closed tomorrow as well. I hope whoever is sick is okay. I'm also worried as teachers can go from school to school, a lot of kids have been out sick, & when they're getting sick, they hang all over you, which is how I got the flu (even with the shot). I also have asthma & right now a bad cold & everything winds up in my chest sooner or later. *has been sick a few times with a bad chest cold as well as spending a few days in the hospital from it* Please WASH YOUR HANDS as much as possible & DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE if your hands aren't that clean. Everyone take care & treat this like the pandemic it is turning out to be! If you're sick, stay home! It might be a cold, but your immune system is fighting that off, why give it something else, which is deadly, on top of it?! Also avoid crowded areas. G-d will forgive you if don't go to services! You don't need that super awesome whatsit that's on sale at the mall! Be smart & be safe!!

*hugs lots* This whole Corona thing is scary. My dad had to travel a lot for work and they haven’t canceled any of his trips yet, which has us on edge. He’s got hand sanitizer with him and we’ve all been washing our hands like crazy. (We usually do anyway- two dogs!- but we’ve been even more on top of it than usual.) My hands are dry from being washed so much. Be safe and feel better! *hugs lots*

*MORE HUGGLES* Tell me about it!! I hope he remains healthy & doesn't even get a sniffle!! It's a pity they can't teleconference at work! That's good! I can't even find it here, or the stuff I need to make my own! o.0 So I'm doing the hand washing thing too. My poor hands are sooo dry they feel like they're made out of sandpaper. XD Thanks! I'm thinking I'm brewing up a sinus infection as I have a mild headache & my nose is stuffy on the left side. If it was a bad cold or allergies like I first thought, I think my whole nose would be stuffed. XD Thanks! Be safe!! *EVEN MORE HUGGLES*

*loads of huggles* Thanks! A lot of stuff he can do from home, but part of his job is putting in, programming, and starting up massive electrical panels for pumps, which he has to be on site for, so he has to fly.

Hand sanitizer has become really hard to find. We’re lucky we already had it around. Mom and I have both been keeping it in our purses for ages. (I’ve always liked to keep it in case I meet any friendly animals while I’m out. XD Dogs sometimes like to say hello and I like to use it after.) I heard yesterday that you can use booze for the same purpose, but it needs to be Everclear since it’s the only thing high enough proof to do the job.

I’m getting tired of singing Happy Birthday twice whenever I was my hands. I was singing it to a koala earlier, just to change it up. XD My hands are ridiculously dry, but using lotion only helps until the have to be washed again!

Tell me about it. XD That's good. I have a few little bottles of it lying around somewhere, but they're in various stages of fullness. XD I'm bad in that I don't wash up enough after touching a friendly dog, or even playing with Gilbee. XD I do, however wash up every time I do anything tank related for my fish. XD Aaah... who knows if you can even get that stuff here? XD


I'm better at work, in that I'll wash up after dealing with germy kids. XD But I still caught a cold. XD I hear you with the dry hands. Hand Sani will dry them out too. I'm down to sticking my finger in the bottle to get any lotion out. It's Palmer's & it does make my hands less dry & very soft, but I need more. XD


I'm tired of being sick! I hate it as my nose gets all stuffy, so I take generic Nitequil tablets & they help some, but it takes a while & I have to go sleep on the sofa, so I sleep sitting up (helps unclog my nose), but that gets tiresome too. T.T I woke at 5 this morning & crawled into bed until 20. XD I must have needed that sleep. XD

*huggles* We’re all hoping they will, but it’s really down to wait and see with it.

Before people started panic buying all of it, we picked up a couple of more bottles, including this spray kind that smells like lavender and aloe. It actually makes your hands really soft, but the lavender is STRONG! Even before all the Coronavirus stuff, I would come straight in whenever we went somewhere and wash my hands because I don’t want to expose the furry babies to anything that might be on my hands. So, yeah, I wash my hands before and after playing with The Bats. XD I just thought it was interesting that someone researched which booze is best for disinfecting and came to the conclusion that it’s the stuff people would sneak into class in water bottles when I was in high school.

*hugs more* I hope you start feeling better soon! Not being able to sleep properly stinks!

*huggles* I hope it turns out that they cut his traveling! The waiting is the worst, so I hope they cut the traveling sooner rather than later.

Aaah... Smart of you to do that! I was reading about corona virus & they said to not play with your pets or take care of them if you were sick, & wash your hands before & after if you are the only one in the household with a pet. They don't know if pets can get it, so you're even sick & doing the right thing! That's hysterical! XD

*huggles* Me, too! He was supposed to attend a conference soon, but it was canceled, so hopefully they’ll get the memo and stop the trips.

It’s just something that we always do and now we’re even more careful about it. Even before this whole mess, whenever anyone gets sick we don’t mess with the dogs if we don’t have to. We don’t want to take any chances with the furry babies.

Aaah.. it makes sense. I know whenever I get sick, I try to limit my contact with the birds so they won't catch whatever I've got.

*even more huggles* Yeah. They normally try not to, so this is really big that they did! The only other time they did something like this was when hurricane Sandy hit & half the town had no power.

*tons of huggles* It’s Spring Break this coming week, so we’ll see what they do after that. People need to stop hoarding toilet paper ASAP, though. There’s not a roll to be found in any store.

Yeah! So far school is closed & according to the parents' letter on the site, they are still cleaning ALL the schools & the teachers are getting together to figure out how to do e-learning. That has me thinking we'll be shut down for more than 2 days. You too!!

We have had emails every day this week regarding the banks' status with Covid-19. I need to do some more purchasing to be safe - extra dog food, some more foods, that sort of thing. HOpefully this weekend.

WOW! If what I've heard is true, there are two cases here. I have a feeling tomorrow's teachers' conference is about how to get K-12 on board with e-learning as I think we're going to be closed for a while to quarantine things. Smart idea! I made sure to stock up on bird seed for my lil guys. Luckily, I have plenty of fish food. And if I do think I'll need more, I can run up to the pet store this weekend & pick up more betta pellets. I made sure to get plenty of pasta, canned foods, tuna, m&c's, cereal, as well as toilet paper & I also picked up 6 containers of milk that don't need refrigeration until you open them. We're also looking into Peapod, which is online shopping to get anything else we might need. Make a list & maybe run out before work if you can, just to get a few things that you might need.

I am off Friday, so we will probably do some shopping then (or I will - depends on if Mom is up to it). I have plenty of dog food, four gallons of water (in case), and a bunch of soup mixes. We have some M&C mixes, too. I need to get some more oatmeal and some dried fruit and frozen veggies.

...and cold medicine.

That's good. I'm off again tomorrow & the way it's been going, probably Friday too. I made sure to get bird seed, toilet paper, napkins, milk(the kind that only needs refrigeration if opened) and cereal. I also got stuff for the freezer & tuna, pasta & sauce. I also think we might try online grocery shopping form Peapod. I have a cold & I don't want to get anything worse. Last time I had a chest cold I spent a couple of days in the hospital.

I managed to get some T.P. tonight on the way home and picked up my meds, too - and some oranges (because I love oranges). Just found out the library is going to be closed until the 29th so I need to run out and grab Mom some more books (I have plenty - about 30 of my own I need to read but she needs large print books).

So Mom has about...10 books now. I have about...8 from the library and of course, the 20 or so that were given to me/I bought to read. And a little voice started chattering at me as an original character and I kinda like her so I'm listening to what she has to say. Unfortunately, she wants me to draw her and her adventures and I'm like, "Uh...I am not the artist you think I am, sweetie."

I generally like *most* books, as long as they're not gratuitous romances. I just finished E E Knight's Novice Dragoneer, which took about six days to read (due to slowness of the story - I kept wanting a bit more actual...action - c'mon, there are DRAGONS and they're part of a military brigade but we don't see any fighting? SIGH). I picked up a couple of graphic novels, a YA book, some "adult" books and I can't remember what for Mom (mostly mysteries).

Me too. What a pity as that sounded like a good book. XD Happy reading! :D I've been reading "Fire & Blood" & when that's finished, I'll pick up My Star Wars Prequel Trilogy again. I finished the first book & need to read the next 2 & then there's the original trilogy. After that, I have several books on my shelf that need reading. :D

Novice Dragoneer was a good book - but I think at least 100 pages could've been cut from it and it wouldn't have been missed at all.

I have Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman, a smattering of dog books (some are doggobiographies, some are fiction), a book on a famous elephant, The White Goddess by Campbell, a few steampunk books, the aforementioned graphic novels, a few collected manga, and I'm not sure what else at this point? Some YA and/or fantasy (since I mostly classify those as one and the same). Call Down the Hawk by Stiefvater. Ummm...not sure what else. Lots! and Lots!

I was horse books as a child. There's a horse crazy lil girl in the school I work in & we, when time & amount of kids allow, like to sit & draw horses. :D We have a thing where she'll draw me a tiny lil horse that you can barely see in the corner of the paper & I draw her a fat lil pony. XD Mostly, I draw unicorn for the girls & ninja for the boys. XD And any time one of the girls has a horse book or magazine, they make a point of showing it to me. XD As much as I LOVE dogs, I guess I'm still a horse crazy lil girl at heart. XD

I still enjoy drawing horses though my artistic style on them hasn't changed since I was 12, really. Which is kind of sad, I would've thought my style might've improved? I guess I need to keep working at it!

Cool! I'm a bit sloppy as I speed draw to get in as many as I can. XD I don't think my style has changed or improved all that much, but then again I used to draw a lot more when I was younger. XD So who knows? XD *is self taught* So let your inner 12 year old loose & have fun! Cuz art should be fun! :D This is from the person who spent Valentine's day at work being a Valentine fairy & with the help of a 6 year old lil girl. *had a TON of fun & kept her amused until she went home* (with paper, tape, some markers & a "broken" pencil you too can make a magic wand! ;P)

I really want to learn how to cartoon and/or draw comics. Soooo. I saw a book at the library but didn't pick it up (dummy) on how to draw comics/comic strips/cartoons.

If I sit down to paint, that's a different story. I can do something with that, sometimes. :D

*nods* yeah! Besides print strips & books, I've read a couple of sweet web comics. The art work was beautiful! Oh carp! XD A pity as that sounds like it would have been to mess around with while teaching yourself. :D

Yeah! A woman on the news got punched in the face cuz someone thought she was sick with it. XD

I'm home and not going anywhere. The one time I did go out to get food from the food court at the mall, I brought it straight home. I had to get some Chinese take-out as peeps have been avoiding them like the plague as if they'll catch it from eating take-out. XD
