Date: 2020-04-03 01:29 am (UTC)Yeah? :D I like weepy trees like that. There's some cherry trees that are trained to weep around the block & they're sooo pretty! :D *thinks* One might actually be a willow as it's HUGE.

Date: 2020-04-03 02:48 am (UTC)I'm still vaguely annoyed my brother chopped that tree down. It was probably a hundred years old if not more.

Date: 2020-04-03 04:48 pm (UTC)That's too bad! T.T If it was healthy, he should have left it!

Date: 2020-04-05 02:47 pm (UTC)I remember playing under it when I was little and picking violets (the only place they'd grow in our yard).
The other tree he cut down was the mimosa (for the same reason). I climbed that one, too - basically, if there was a tree available for climbing, I was up in it. My favorite was one of the maples (which I think is still on the property). My friends had this amazing tree, I can't remember what kind but it was almost a ladder, so you could get really high in it. I'm pretty sure we were at least 30 feet in the air with that tree.

Date: 2020-04-05 06:37 pm (UTC)Yeah! We've got them growing wild in the grass here & there. Got dandelions too & I want to keep them as they're bee food. :D
T.T I LOVE mimosa trees! They're sooo pretty. Those & cherry trees, which are all in bloom around here. :D That tree sounds sooo cool!! :D

Date: 2020-04-06 12:46 am (UTC)We have dandelions, violets, clover, and some weird mints in our yard. Mom says if Dad was still alive, he'd have taken care of the weeds but we think a lot of them are pretty. We have white and purple violets and I love dandies. Their color is so lovely.

Date: 2020-04-06 01:05 am (UTC)Sweet! We had some weird mints growing too. Some weeds are really pretty! At the arboretum, on the HUGE lawn facing the water (there's an old mansion, that's semi-opened to the public & often get lunch there & eat it on the back porch), there's these tiny lil flowers growing here & there in the grass that are kinda cute. :D And near the front door behind the landscaping, there's this pretty yellow flowers growing that could have come from leftover indoor bird seed, as I've never really seen it anywhere else. I like to down the used seeds (some are edible still) out front for the smaller birds to eat. I like dandies too! They have such a strong, bright yellow that looks pretty against the green of the grass. :D

Date: 2020-04-12 02:17 am (UTC)I agree, I'm fond of weeds (as long as they're not sticktights or begger's lice or sandspurs). The mint we have in the yard is henbane, I think? It has little purple flowers.
Aww to to the little yellow flowers.
Dandies are sooo sweet. I mean, bright yellow, and then the seed puff!

Date: 2020-04-12 02:26 am (UTC)Me too, as long as they behave, they can stay. :D We had a bunch of pretty goldenrod/ragweed growing in multiple spots & it gave some color to the backyard when everything else was fading. I don't know what it's called, but I think I know what you're talking about. It grows wild here & you often see it while out for a walk in people's front yards. XD
More opened up & I'm glad the tree missed them when it fell!
They are! Those were the best! As lil kids we'd run around, grabbing them, & blowing the puffs away & wishing on them! :D
