Just want to let you know that I could lose the net as our neighbor's tree fell over and landed on the wires that give us internet & phone. It's a HUGE pine tree & it broke the fence, no biggie, but Dad needs the net for work & if it goes out, he can't do his job. I was going to go fill the bird feeders, which is good I got lazy, as I might have had a tree fall on me. XD So if I go quiet, you know why & don't worry. :D I'm fine & so is everyone here. I just hope this wind storm blows over soon. If any more of their trees fall, those wires will break. XD

EDIT: They came & fixed the wire to the house, so the internet & phone were only down for 10, 15 minutes. :D

Thanks! Verizon's coming to take care of the possible problem with the wires. Now the tree guy needs to come. The tree fell even lower during the night.

Yeah! They were here bright & early! The tree guy was too expensive according to the neighbor. XD We saw she had someone out there just now, looking at it.

Yeah, Even dad said they were. It cost us $600 to take down & cart away a HUGE maple. We're talking a tree so big, had it fallen on the house it would have crushed it. That would have been an over 60 year old tree. This, while tall, was only a 10 year old tree & it was already on the ground. In order to get the wire released, Dad took his small electric chainsaw and was able to cut through the trunk in 5 minutes. A handsaw would have done it too, in about 10 minutes. So all they're doing it cutting it up in manageable pieces, no climbing the tree or anything like that & they wanted $500. This tree's circumference is smaller is roughly the same as my thigh. Dad was even able to hold it up just enough to brace with the picnic table's bench. (Unfortunately, that wasn't able to cheat gravity.) So not big; just tall. For now it's just laying there in our yard. I'm just happy I was able to rescue the bird feeders. :D

At least you got the feeders. Actually that's cheaper than I thought. It tends to go for like 1000$ around here

Yeah! :D Once the tree's gone & the hangers righted, I can hang them up again.

Yeah? WOW! That's a lot! o.0

Eeeep! So glad the tree didn't fall on you know, the house or car(s) or...

Thanks! It's in the backyard so no cars, but it could have landed on their house a lil easier than ours. It would have landed in our dining room if it had. XD

The neighbor across the alley has a dead tree. We wonder when it comes down, will it fall on our house, will it fall on their neighbor's cars, or will it possibly go in her own yard? We're betting away from her yard.

OY! She sounds like the one neighbor in the back, who had a HUG tree fall on the power lines in the back, knocking out everyone's power, but for like 2 weeks she refused to cut the tree down, saying it'll settle back & be fine. XD Luckily someone convinced her to cut it down. The tree was ripped out by hurricane Sandy, there was no way it was going to settle back down, especially when it was leaning on the power lines. XD

YIKES.

When one of the 2004 hurricanes hit near my house, one of the neighbor's trees landed on the power lines but didn't take them down - it was all the other trees in Florida that took them down.
