“Still writing in the princess diaries, hunh?” Amber said as she climbed through Bernd’s open window.
Bernd turned in his desk chair and looked over at her. He rolled his eyes. “I like to journal,” he said as if that explained everything.
Amber snorted. “No one said you didn’t.”
“I like pink…?”
“That makes more sense.” Amber sat on his bed. “So, what are you writing about?”
“My pink hair.”
“Yeah?”
Bernd nodded. “While I was waiting for James to get out of class, a couple of guys were making some comments, until he showed up.”
“Awe…”
“Yeah…” Bernd felt his cheeks heating up.
“I’m glad my brother was there to save his Prissy.” Amber grinned.
Bernd shook his head at her. He turned around in his chair and went back to writing in his diary. When he was finished, he got up and put the diary on the shelf next to the others. Each one was a different shade of pink, not to mention different sizes. He even had one with a fuzzy bubblegum pink cover. Collectively, they were known by family and friends as “the princess diaries” much to Bernd’s chagrin. Maybe if James had not gotten him the first one, things might have been different, but when his own brother got him one for Christmas, and Tino got him the fuzzy pink one for his birthday, it might not have turned into a “go to” present for him. Plus, when he really thought about it, Bernd did love all things pink if his pink confection of a room was anything to go by.
“Anyways, you wanna play video games?” Bernd grinned.
“Okay.”
The two of them spent the afternoon playing video games until dinner time. He later wrote about how awesome his time with Amber was, filling page after page in his pretty pink diary, after she had left for work.
