Today, I had to put poor lil Ban aka Chicken Nuggets to sleep. He was very ill & the vet said he didn't think he'd get better. He said that there was a good possibility Ban would die, just from wrapping him up to get an X-ray, so I decided to give him the final kindness and put him to sleep. I buried him out back next to Jaki & Mel in a spot near the house, where when it snows, I open the window & put food out for the birds there on the ground & the window ledge. It's a spot where a dove died & went back into the earth & wild flowers grow. They vet's office gave me a lil clay imprint of his Ban's feet & they put a couple of his pretty blue feathers on it, with a lil prayer/ story about the rainbow bridge so I can remember him. They put Chicken Nuggets on it as that was the name I gave them for him, since he came to be known by that after Jaki died. I miss him so much... *cries*
I just got some really sad news... and if I don't comment or get real quiet it's cuz my heart is broken as one of the lil kids I watch in child care would say. I'm just... *cries*

*cries* RIP Jaki
Jun. 9th, 2015 05:13 pmI just got back from the vet. My parakeet, who I thought had an egg stuck in her, had a tumor that was making her uncomfortable. After trying in vain to get a hold of my vet, I found a bird vet a few towns over, and took her there. A stuck egg is a serious condition. Anyways, it turned out not to be a stuck egg, but a tumor that was kinda painful for her, so I did the only kind thing I could do & put her down. *cries* Sadly, that kind of tumor is common in older birds. Jaki was about 7 years old, so an older bird. Anyway, she's in peace now...
